Angelus Leather Acrylic Paint is a flexible, water-based paint made for decorating, restoring, and completely changing the color of smooth leather and similar surfaces. Unlike leather dye, which penetrates into the fibers, acrylic paint provides opaque color on the surface, making it especially useful for detailed artwork, lettering, edging, repairs, and full-color customization.

When properly prepared and applied, the paint remains flexible with the leather to help resist cracking, peeling, and flaking. Use it on boots, shoes, belts, purses, wallets, jackets, leather accessories, and other smooth leather projects. It also works on vinyl and a variety of other surfaces when properly prepared.

Surface preparation makes a big difference. Clean the leather and remove existing factory finishes, waxes, oils, or other coatings before painting. Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer can be used on many finished leather surfaces to give the paint a better surface to bond to.

Apply several thin, even coats rather than one heavy coat, allowing approximately 15–30 minutes of drying time between layers. Angelus Paint can be applied with a brush, sponge, or airbrush. When airbrushing, Angelus 2-Thin can be added as needed to improve flow.

The colors can also be mixed together, giving you plenty of room to create custom shades rather than being limited to straight-from-the-bottle colors. Once the final coat is complete, allow the paint to cure for at least 24 hours before heavily bending or flexing the project. An Angelus acrylic finisher or clear coat can be added afterward when additional protection or a different final sheen is desired.

Please Note: DO NOT FREEZE. Best results are achieved on properly prepared smooth leather. Suede and nubuck require products specifically designed for those surfaces.
