These Special Purchase Lining Sides are lightweight chrome-tanned cowhide with a smooth feel and enough body to keep them from feeling flimsy. The semi-firm temper makes them especially useful when you want a thin leather that still has some structure.

At 2–3 oz., they work well for laminated wallets, bag and clutch interiors, pockets, belt linings, small leather goods, and other projects where a heavier leather would add too much bulk. They are also a good option for upholstery, desk and table inlays, cabinet accents, and other home décor applications.

The combination of a lightweight thickness and semi-firm temper makes this leather easy to layer, glue, stitch, and incorporate into larger projects. It is substantial enough to stand on its own for many applications while remaining thin enough for lining and interior work.

If we need to cut this leather to fill your order, sides are normally cut vertically from back to belly, usually beginning at the neck. If you need the leather cut in a different direction, particularly for belts or long straps, please include that request with your order and we will do our best to accommodate it.
