Import Bellies are smooth, natural vegetable-tanned cowhide bellies that offer an inexpensive way to practice traditional leathercraft techniques without cutting into a more expensive side. They are shorter than Hermann Oak bellies, but still give you plenty of usable leather for smaller projects, samples, and skill-building.

The firm temper makes these bellies well suited for stamping, tooling, carving, dyeing, and other veg-tan work. They are also fairly consistent in weight, which makes them easier to use when you are learning how different tools, dyes, and finishes respond to vegetable-tanned leather.

Import Bellies are a good choice for beginners, classrooms, test pieces, keychains, tags, small cases, straps, practice tooling panels, and other projects where you want genuine veg tan at a lower cost.
