Classic Bisonte

There’s one spec conflict in the source: the opening says 15–18 Sq. Ft., while the detailed notes say 18–19 Sq. Ft. for Antique and 18–21 Sq. Ft. for Shrunken. I’m using the more specific style information below. Because the two styles have different weights, Thickness should not appear in the parent specs.

Who needs ordinary bison when you can have Bisonte? This is the classic bison leather people picture when they think of rich grain, beautiful pull-up, and leather goods that only get better with age. The natural grain changes across the side, giving every piece its own character before you even make the first cut.

Bisonte has a mellow, medium-soft temper with enough body to make substantial leather goods while still feeling pliable in the hand. The oil-rich pull-up creates strong tonal contrast anywhere the leather bends, folds, or stretches, and the surface continues to develop character as the finished piece is handled and used.

This leather is right at home on briefcases, backpacks, duffels, totes, laptop bags, valet trays, satchels, portfolios, and other projects where the leather itself needs to make an impression. It has the substance for larger bags while still working beautifully for smaller personal goods and accents.

Bisonte is offered in two distinct styles. Antique Bisonte runs approximately 4–5 oz. with a smoother, two-toned surface that burnishes beautifully. Shrunken Bisonte runs approximately 7–8 oz. and features a much heavier natural bison grain with more pronounced texture throughout the side. Both offer the pull-up and changing character that make this leather so much fun to work with.

Please Note: Bison grain naturally changes across each side, and differences in texture, pull-up, surface markings, and tonal variation are part of the character of the leather. Average size and thickness vary between the Antique and Shrunken styles.
