If you're looking to make biker chaps, these sides are right in the standard weight and feel for the job. At 3–4 oz. with a medium temper, the leather has enough substance to hold up to regular wear while remaining flexible enough to move comfortably with the rider.
The surface has a slight pebble grain that gives the leather a clean, classic chap-leather appearance without making it overly textured. These sides are also water resistant, making them a practical choice for riding gear and other leather goods that may see changing weather and regular outdoor use.
While chaps are the obvious application, this leather also works well for vests, garments, bags, motorcycle accessories, soft cases, and other projects that need a medium-weight chrome-tanned leather with flexibility and good coverage from a larger side.
