Renia Aquilim 315 is a water-based contact cement made for leathercraft, shoemaking, bags, clothing, and other applications where you need a strong, flexible bond without reaching for a traditional solvent-based cement. Made in Germany, Aquilim 315 has been widely used in the footwear industry and works with leather as well as materials such as rubber, EVA, PU, cork, and Plastazote.

For leather-to-leather bonding, apply a thin, even coat to the surfaces being joined. On leather, the adhesive can dry in approximately 2–3 minutes depending on how heavily it is applied. It goes on white and turns transparent as it dries, giving you an easy visual cue that it's ready to work with.

Aquilim 315 is especially handy for vegetable-tanned leather. Apply it to the flesh side and allow it to penetrate into the fibers before joining the pieces. If you're bonding to a smooth grain surface, lightly roughing or sanding the area first can help prepare the leather for a better bond.

For traditional contact-cement use, apply a thin coat to both surfaces, allow the adhesive to dry, then bring the pieces together and press them firmly. Because contact cement grabs once the surfaces meet, take a moment to get your pieces lined up before committing to the bond.

Since Aquilim 315 is water based and free of organic solvents, you don't have the strong solvent fumes associated with many traditional contact cements. It's a great option for leatherworkers who want serious adhesive performance in a water-based formula.

Please Note: Non-flammable. DO NOT FREEZE. Drying time varies with the material, application thickness, temperature, and working conditions. Renia recommends allowing approximately 30–60 minutes before sewing or stitching. Surfaces should be clean and properly prepared before applying the adhesive.
