Thumb Break Stiffener A thumb break is a safety device installed on many holsters (usually OWB) and sheaths to prevent a weapon from being unintentionally drawn, or preventing an unauthorized person from drawing a pistol or knife from another person's body, and also securing the weapon in the in the holster or sheath when its owner is engaged in vigorous activities. Thumb breaks are usually made out of leather or nylon, so our thumb break stiffener works in conjunction with whatever material you use. Made out of black phosphate and may be either permanently attached or removable. It's usually held in place by a snap mechanism, which can be disengaged by pushing your thumb upward against it. 1-3/16" x 1/2". Sold in a 2 pack. Item # 916-1
