The leather is great. The surface of the cutting table was not.
"I explained to the lady cutting the leather that I only needed 9 square feet for my project. When I explained that it was for a sewing project, she said, "well, you know leather is different than fabric" I explained to her. I understand this, and I have doubled the amount of leather my pattern calls for because I need enough for a mockup and to make the finished piece. I also made sure to tell her that 9 square feet is still more than I need for my project. However, because you sell it by the square foot, it is the lowest possible amount I can get and still be able to do my project. And yet for some strange reason she cut 12 square feet instead of 9. I paid about $20 more than I was expecting because of her. And now, I have three square feet of leather that I do not need, want, nor have a use for. This is nine square feet of not just scrap, but completely unused and unneeded leather. Leather may be different from other textiles, but it's not so different that I'm incapable of doing the math necessary to calculate the amount that I need for my purposes. As for the rest of the service. It was great. Every time that I've come to the store the employees are alwasy very helpful. The people who run the checkout are also very nice and respectful. My only problem, this visit was that the woman who cut the leather seemed to think that I was an idiot who didn't know how much leather they needed because I sew with fabric and I don't work with leather consistently. Overall, I didn't like that. I do not shop here often because I rarely need leather for any of my sewing projects. And considering this is only my third visit over the span of 5 years I really do not appreciate this happening."
Fringe

Didn't Leave My Hide Fealin, Chapped About My Purchase, LOL
"I have nothing but good to say about the blue chap leather we ordered from Springfield. This split is excellent in quality and appearance. The color is deep and uniform completely through the leather. Springield Leather has always done right by us. The service after, and in addition to the sale, is top-notch and an essential reason we keep coming back."
