You don't need a whole Pirarucu skin to make this leather stand out. These genuine Pirarucu Remnants give you assorted pieces of one of the most recognizable fish leathers around, with its large natural scale pattern and bold texture doing a whole lot of work even on a small project.
Pirarucu, also known as arapaima, is a large freshwater fish native to the Amazon basin. Once tanned, the skin has a distinctive pattern of oversized scale pockets that looks completely different from traditional cowhide or smaller fish leathers. Depending on where a piece was cut from the skin, the scale size, shape, and texture can vary quite a bit.
These remnants are especially useful for inlays and overlays where you only need a small section to make an impact. Try them in wallets, card holders, notebook covers, hat patches, cuffs, watch straps, boot and shoe accents, bags, key fobs, jewelry, decorative panels, or other small leather goods that could use a little extra flare.
They also work well alongside tooling leather. Frame a Pirarucu inlay with carved veg tan, add a scale-pattern accent to a wallet or bag, or use smaller pieces anywhere you want the exotic leather to become the focal point without building the entire project from it.
Please Note: These are assorted remnant bags. Colors, piece sizes, shapes, scale patterns, surface character, and the assortment in each bag will vary. Specific colors or pieces cannot be guaranteed.
