If you really want to march to the beat of your own drum, how about making one? These genuine elk rawhide drum covers are pre-cut and ready to use, making it easier to start a drum project without first cutting a full rawhide hide down to size.

At approximately 0.5 mm thick, the rawhide is lightweight enough to stretch and shape while wet, then tightens as it dries to create the firm surface needed for drum making. It can also be used for rattles, rawhide lace, and other traditional craft projects where natural rawhide is preferred.

Soak the rawhide before stretching or forming it, then allow it to dry completely in place. As the moisture leaves the hide, the rawhide contracts and firms up, helping create the tension needed for a finished drum head.
