Fiebing’s Bag Kote is a traditional leather finish made to leave the surface with a soft, satin sheen. Long preferred by saddle makers, it provides a more natural-looking finish than high-gloss acrylic topcoats while helping protect the leather from handling and everyday use.

Bag Kote is well suited for saddlery, belts, bags, cases, notebook covers, and other smooth or tooled leather projects where a soft, mellow finish is preferred. It enhances the appearance of the leather without creating a heavy or overly glossy surface.

Apply Bag Kote in a thin, even coat with a sponge, cloth, or spray equipment. Allow it to dry completely before handling the leather. Additional light coats may be applied when more coverage is needed, but thin applications generally produce the smoothest result.

Originally developed by John Fiebing, Bag Kote has remained a trusted finishing product for generations of leatherworkers and saddle makers.

Please Note: Always test on a scrap piece before applying it to the finished project. Bag Kote may slightly deepen the leather’s color and alter the final sheen.
