Renia Aquilim 315 Contact Cement
Aquilim 315 is a water-based contact adhesive and can be used for almost any leather project. The bonding strength is incredible and is comparable to solvent-based adhesives. It is manufactured in Germany and has been used for many years in the shoe making industry. You could say that this stuff is a STEP UP from what you've probably used before!
You can trust that this stuff will stand up to the wear and tear of everyday use. Added bonus: while having the strength to hold...doesn't have the smell to make you run out of the room! It goes on white and dries clear. It has a working time of 2-3 minutes and fully dries in less than 15 minutes. And you don't have to worry about getting glue on your finished edges, just grab some water and wipe it away!
This stuff is FANTASTIC for veg tans! Just thinly spread the glue on the flesh side of the leather, wait for it to clear, then slap the two pieces together...and voila! IF you are placing it on the grain side, just rough it up a bit before applying the glue.

"Great cement to work with. Works very well with both leather and rubber. At first, I was hesitant with how well it would bond leather to rubber (since I make loafers and boots as a hobby). So, I made a test piece out of scrap veg tan and an off cut piece of rubber outsole. After applying the cement to both contact surfaces (after some rough sanding to increase bonding) I clamped them together and waited for the cement to dry. I checked on the bond after an hour of curing, and to my pleasant surprise, the bond was just as strong as the barge cement I used in my previous shoe builds, minus the smell and the mess! Compared to barge, less product was required to cover surfaces with ample cement. Perhaps this is due to being a water-based cement. Anyway, great purchase. I will likely buy the gallon once I run out of my current supply."

"When you use this product to glue your pieces together, make sure they are placed correctly. Aquilim 315 provides an almost instant bond that is quite impressive. Best adhesive I have ever used for any project on any material. It does not come apart. Through sickness and health, richer or poorer, Aquilim 315 and your project will bond till death due you part."
