This professional leather splitter is made for reducing leather straps and pieces to a more consistent thickness. Instead of trying to skive an entire strap by hand, the leather is pulled through the splitter against a razor-sharp 6" blade, allowing you to remove material from the flesh side while keeping the grain side intact.

A leather splitter is especially useful when you need several pieces to finish at the same thickness. It works well for belts, straps, wallets, bags, tack, and other projects where uneven leather can make folding, stitching, or assembly more difficult. Taking lighter passes instead of trying to remove too much leather at once generally gives you better control and a cleaner result.

The splitter includes one cutting blade. Replacement blades are available separately when the original blade eventually needs to be replaced.

Please Note: This is dangerous machinery with an extremely sharp 5.75" exposed cutting blade. Improper use can cause serious injury. The splitter must be securely mounted to a workbench or other stable surface before use. Keep hands and fingers clear of the cutting edge at all times.
