Fiebing’s Institutional Leather Finish is a non-flammable, water-based finish made for natural vegetable-tanned leather. It adds a protective coating while helping preserve the color, tooling, and natural character of the leather beneath it.

This finish is especially useful when working with Fiebing’s Institutional Dye, providing a compatible topcoat after the dye has dried completely. It helps seal the surface and gives finished projects a clean, even appearance without the fumes or flammability concerns of many solvent-based products.

Apply Institutional Leather Finish in thin, even coats with a sponge, soft cloth, or suitable applicator. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying another. Light applications generally produce the smoothest and most consistent finish.

Use it on belts, wallets, notebook covers, leather shapes, tooled leather, and other natural veg-tan projects that need a water-based protective finish.
