This is a mix of medium grade, American tanned sides. There might be a brand on it, or it might have some oxidized areas, or maybe even some off-kilter grain issues. But, while it's not perfect, it's pretty darned good. Hugely popular with holster & sheath makers because of its molding & oiling properties. If you're tooling on it... you will be spoiled rotten! This is one of our top selling leathers, and for good reason.
Since 1881, Hermann Oak has been tanning top-grain leather right here in Missouri. St. Louis-based, the company prides itself on its slow and careful tanning process. A process that produces the finest top-grain stamping and tooling leather in the world. The Hermann Oak name has become synonymous with high quality!

"Probably the worst piece of veg-tan I've ever bought. 75 % of it is deep scared stretch marks. I didn't expect it to be great but i thought I could get a holster out of it . I hardly ever give a bad review but I'm glad i only ordered 6 feet."
"The side I received was clean, no brands. Very satisfied and will order again. Shipping was very prompt…."

"Was in need of skirting leather to make a set of Tapaderos. I phoned and spoke with customer service to make sure I had enough width and length in 5 sq. ft. for my pattern. Very helpful conversation and my order was received perfectly sized. The leather quality was excellent. I would certainly recommend Springfield Leather to a family member."
"Some areas of loose grain, but excellent for practice and smaller pieces"
