Roasted Chestnut Oil Tan is a rich brown leather with a smooth semi-matte surface, medium temper, and just a touch of pull-up when the leather bends and flexes. The color is struck through, so the chestnut tone carries through the leather rather than sitting only on the surface.
But it's the way this leather feels in your hand that really makes it stand out. It has a smooth, rich feel without being overly oily or heavily distressed, giving you a finished leather that's easy to work with while still developing more character as it's handled and used.
At 4½–5½ oz., it has enough body for wallets, card cases, watchbands, key fobs, valet trays, satchels, bags, notebook covers, cases, and other personal leather goods. The medium temper also makes it a good choice for projects that need some structure without becoming overly stiff.
The slight pull-up adds subtle tonal movement instead of a dramatic distressed effect, so finished projects keep a clean appearance while gradually picking up the marks and variation that make oil-tanned leather more interesting over time.
Please Note: This is a Special Purchase item and is available only while supplies last. Once inventory is gone, it cannot be reordered. Natural markings, tonal variation, and changes in the pull-up are normal characteristics of this leather.
