These Solid Brass Grommet Setters are made for installing matching solid brass grommets by hand. Each set includes one setter and one anvil, giving you the two pieces needed to flare and secure the grommet cleanly without using a press.

Start by punching a hole that matches the inside diameter of the grommet. Insert the grommet through the leather, place the washer on the back, then position the hardware over the included anvil. Hold the setter squarely over the grommet and strike it with a suitable leathercraft mallet until the post rolls and locks the washer securely in place.

Grommets reinforce holes that will see more stress than a plain punched hole can handle. They are especially useful for bags, straps, aprons, covers, tie-down points, lacing holes, and other projects where cord, rope, hooks, or hardware will pass through the leather.

We carry three sizes:

A useful general-purpose size for smaller attachment points, lacing, drawstrings, and lighter leather projects.

A good mid-size option for bags, straps, covers, and projects that need a little more room through the opening.

Best suited for larger attachment points, heavier straps, rope, thicker cord, and projects where a larger reinforced opening is needed.

Please Note: Each grommet size requires the matching setter size. Punch the hole before setting the hardware, and test your strike pressure on scrap leather first to make sure the grommet rolls cleanly without crushing or distorting the material.
