These stamps are made for use on properly cased vegetable-tanned leather. Position the stamp where you want the number, hold it straight, and strike the included handle firmly with a suitable mallet or maul. For dates or longer number sequences, lightly marking a guide line first will help keep the characters aligned and evenly spaced.

The ¾" size works especially well for belts, large tags, notebook covers, tack, leather signs, dates, identification numbers, and other projects where the numbers are meant to stand out as part of the design.
