Superior Pig is a trade name for lightweight pigskin lining leather with the grain still intact. Unlike a pig split, this leather retains its natural grain surface, giving finished projects a smoother, cleaner appearance while keeping the thin profile that makes pigskin so useful for lining work.

At approximately 2 oz., it adds very little bulk while still providing enough body for belts, boots, shoes, wallets, bags, cases, pockets, and other interior applications. The medium temper sits in a useful middle ground—it is softer than many structured lining leathers without becoming as loose or drapey as garment leather.

Pigskin has long been used in footwear and leather goods because it offers a good combination of flexibility, durability, and low weight. The natural grain also shows the distinctive pore pattern associated with pigskin, giving the lining a genuine leather appearance rather than a flat or heavily coated surface.

The generous 20–24 Sq. Ft. skins also provide useful length for belt linings and larger interior pieces. It cuts, glues, and stitches easily, making it a practical choice when you want a real leather lining that feels finished without adding unnecessary thickness.
